Itinerary – Women’s Safari to Zimbabwe April 2025
Days 1 - 3
Amalinda Lodge, Matobo National Park
Matobo National Park is known for its rich human history, its remarkably diverse flora and fauna and its magnificent rugged terrain. The reserve is home to an impressive range of wildlife including the highly endangered black and white rhinoceros, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, cheetah, hippo, warthog and crocodile as well as Africa’s largest concentration of leopard and black eagles. This luxury lodge is hidden away among the Matobo Hills in southern Zimbabwe. You will go rhino tracking and from here you will also visit Rhodes Grave and explore bushman paintings.

Days 4 - 6
Sable Valley Lodge, Hwange
Sable Valley Lodge is situated on the magical Dete Vlei just outside Hwange National Park. Known for its sprawling grassy plains and abundance of wildlife diversity, the Dete Vlei provides scenic landscapes of exceptional and rare beauty, sustaining an ecosystem of remarkable habitat and species, all whilst maintaining its ecological resilience and amazing natural phenomena. The Dete vlei is a dried river with multiple waterholes of which a 7km stretch belongs to the lodge’s concession, which allows guests the private game viewing in this area.
Accommodation: rondavels with en-suite showers, heated by gas, and small private terrace areas. Equipped with comfort in mind with dressing gowns, lounge area, and mosquito nets. The round huts are set between ancient hard woods providing a canopy of shade and generously spaced out around the central swimming pool.
Days 7 - 8
Shongwe Lookout - Zambezi River
Shongwe Lookout is an exciting new build lodge in the suburbs of Victoria Falls. It is located roughly 1km from Victoria Falls town, and 2km from the majestic Falls. Their unique offering is a 2-platform lookout tower with views of the Zambezi River, and Falls’ spray. Enjoy the magical view! This tower is open both for early morning coffees, from 5am, and for evening drinks, until 9pm. Shongwe Lookout also has an onsite bar and restaurant, with an onsite pool and boma area to complete the experience. Should you wish, we can organise a day visit to Victoria Falls.
Accommodation: beautifully furnished rooms offer everything you need to kick back and relax, surrounded by the exquisite work of local artisans. The rooms are set amid lush gardens and winding teak trees, all centred around the infinity pool.
Days 9 - 10
Tsowa Safari Island, Zambezi National Park
Tsowa Safari Island is located 40km upstream from the Victoria Falls, in the Zambezi National Park, Zimbabwe. It is a luxury modern day explorer style tented camp. Enjoy game drives and guided game walks on the mainland through the Zambezi National Park, guided walks around the island which is home to magnificent Baobab trees and wonderful bird life, guided rafting down the Zambezi river with a picnic lunch and sun downer cruises on the river. You will head out to explore this paradise on foot, boat, canoes, and game viewers then return to this oasis on the river.
Accommodation: the large airy en-suite safari tents are nestled on the edge of the island on the banks of the Zambezi River under the shade of deep forest. Each tent has a small, covered veranda set near the river’s edge and looks directly across to the Zambezi National Park.
Days 11 - 13
Vundu Camp, Mana Pools National Park
With a magnificent combination of wildlife and wilderness, this very animal active camp is in the heart of Mana Pools National Park in northern Zimbabwe. Guests have an exclusive and immersive experience in the wilds of Africa with the additional opportunity of night game drives. The camp is a permanent tented camp situated underneath a shady forest of riverine trees on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, giving guests beautiful views of the floodplains in one of Zimbabwe’s most lush and flourishing regions and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
