Itinerary – Sri Lanka in Style
Days 1 - 2
Uga Residence - Colombo
Explore Colombo, a city with a rich history, with your expert guide. The city tour experience takes in all the sights including the Old Dutch Hospital, Pettah Market and the Red Mosque. The tour ends in Independence Square with a visit to the National Museum, which displays a wide selection of art, statues and colonial artefacts. Uga Residence enjoys a very central, yet peaceful location. A calm oasis in the heart of the city and a great location from which to explore the sights of this fascinating city.
Accommodation: based in the capital city, Colombo, you will stay in the lavish and stylish boutique hotel with just eleven suites which provide privacy and exclusivity. This former manor home dates back to the 19th century.
Days 3 - 5
Ceylon Tea Trails, Hatton - Tea country
After breakfast, you will leave for Hatton, a small tea producing town located close to Adam’s Peak. Hatton has beautiful landscapes dominated by tea plantations. You will be staying at Ceylon Tea Trails, set amongst the beautiful tea country. Trek or cycle the trails cutting through the tea plantations, go kayaking on Castlereagh Lake, learn the secrets of Sri Lankan cuisine with a cookery lesson or trek up nearby Adam’s Peak at night in time to witness one of the most beautiful sunrises in all of Asia.
Accommodation: get a taste of the island’s British colonial past by staying in a former planter’s bungalow. Furnished with antiques, these charming properties are member’s of Relais & Chateaux and come complete with butler service.
Days 6 - 9
Cape Weligama - Indian Ocean
You will take an air taxi to your next destination where you will spend a relaxing four nights at Cape Weligama. The flight gives you a bird’s eye view of beautiful Sri Lanka, while significantly cutting down your travel time. Whilst here, enjoy a whale watching excursion at Mirissa and a guided walking tour at Galle Fort, exploring the maze of hidden streets and meet the locals. Indulge in the rich cultural heritage or surf Weligama’s famous waves, Cape Weligama provides the most idyllic setting!
Accommodation: Cape Weligama is set in beautiful, landscaped gardens, perched on a clifftop overlooking the Indian Ocean. Its a great base for exploring the best of Sri Lanka’s southern coast. with many lookouts over the Indian Ocean.
