Itinerary – Uganda wildlife safari February 2026
Day 1
Karibu Guest House - Entebbe
Set in the grounds of a former Presidential residence, and just a short drive from Entebbe International Airport, the boutique Karibu guest house provides the perfect surroundings for guests and is a convenient stop over when entering the country via the city’s international airport. Enjoy the sunny tropical garden with its abundant birdlife. There is a swimming pool, spa and massage facilities which make it a great place to start your Ugandan journey!
Accommodation: eight unique and individually designed en-suite rooms are all well equipped with high pressure showers, king sized beds and free wifi. “Karibu” means welcome in the Swahili language and this guest house certainly delivers with it’s high level of personalised service and welcome!
Days 2 - 3
Murchison River Lodge - Murchison Falls
The lodge is situated directly on the southern bank of the river Nile overlooking Uganda’s largest national park, the Murchison Falls. Explore the northern sector of the park on games drives in search of wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo and antelope. Take a boat cruise on the legendary Nile viewing the game and bird life along the riverbanks, that may include crocodiles, hippos and the birds like the Saddle-billed Stork and visit the Murchison waterfalls.
Accommodation: thatched en-suite safari tents nestled amongst the trees and bush are spacious and comfortable with their own porch and table and chair set. Equipped with en-suite shower and toilet, solar hot water shower, towels, USB ports, safe, solar lights, mosquito nets and wooden doors instead of zip openings.
Days 4 - 6
Turaco Treetops - Kibale National Park
Turaco Treetops is Kibale Forest’ newest semi-luxe lodge. An excellent, eco-friendly, spacious lodge creating an uncomplicated, and warm-hearted atmosphere and offering guests a unique experience in the forest with stunning views over the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains. Immerse yourself in nature in the lodges’ 5.2 hectares of rain forest, neighbouring the lush Kibale National Park, famous for its chimpanzees. Explore the forest and see chimpanzees up close.
Accommodation: Turaco Treetops offers its guests a unique jungle experience, without compromising on comfort. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with flushing toilet and hot shower, extra long beds, bed linen, towels and mosquito nets and a balcony with comfortable couch.
Days 7 - 8
Kasenyi Safari Lodge - crater lakes region
Kasenyi Safari Camp is strategically located on the rim of lake Bunyampaka in the Kasenyi savannah of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape, and the novelty of viewing the many animals that visit camp from the elevated dining structure that is meticulously thatched. An excellent base for your safari activities with early morning game drives, boat tours on the Kazinga channel cruising just meters from hippos and buffalos.
Accommodation: the tents are on platforms with a thatched canopy roof. There are eight tents all with en-suite bathrooms, spacious living areas and private decks overlooking the salt flat. The camp has a lovely friendly atmosphere, employing members of the local community.
Day 9
Ishasha Jungle Lodge - tree climbing lions
Surrounded by riparian forest vegetation and acacias Savannah, Ishasha Jungle Lodge is a small eco-friendly lodge, entirely made with local materials and African art. Located just 2 km from the Katokye Gate of the Queen Elizabeth National Park along River Ntungwe. The lodge is in an arena of photographic views, a perfect location for your photographic safaris and game drives in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Accommodation: raised en-suite wooden deck cottages, spacious rooms, and bathroom, all finished with canvas. Mosquito netting hanging from ceilings covering each sleeping area. The eco-lodge uses clean energy and power. Solar systems give 24hr power and hot water to all cottages.
Days 10 - 12
Engagi Lodge - gorilla tracking in Bwindi
Engagi Lodge in Bwindi is a modern lodge in a breathtaking setting offering stunning views over the forest canopy. The lodge is situated in a large tract of land contiguous to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and runs from the main road to the Park Headquarters down to the Munyaga river. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and the diversity of species is a feature of the park.
Accommodation: en-suite cottages, spaced out and hidden in the foliage. Each cottage has either double or twin beds, a bathroom with flushing toilets and hot and cold running water. All have private verandas where guests can enjoy their morning tea or coffee as they watch out over the forest canopy.
Days 13 - 14
Kigambira Safari Lodge - Lake Mburo
Kigambira Safari Lodge in Lake Mburo National Park is a luxury eco-lodge built in the Southern part of Uganda’s smallest park. Nestled between Lake Kigambira and the Rubanga Forest, the location provides the ideal base with a range of activities from game drives and boat trips on Lake Mburo, to exhilarating hikes through the low canopied forest or the looping trail around Lake Kigambira. With some of the park featuring wetlands, this is an ornithologist’s paradise.
Accommodation: tastefully decorated en-suite deluxe bandas with double or twin configuration. All are cosy, and adjacent to lush whistling acacia trees that attract lots of bird species, most of which have very serenading calls and tweets, perfect music for the soul!
