This family safari takes you on a family holiday to Uganda, staying in carefully selected accommodation. You’ll explore some of Uganda’s fabulous national parks and sites in a combination of nature walks including rhino tracking, game drives, boat trips and bush experiences (age dependant).
The children’s programme involves learning bush skills from identifying animal tracks, to bush lore, conservation and so much more. This safari doesn’t stop at wildlife; there are also opportunities to meet the friendly local people and gain an insight into their culture.

Days 1 - 2
The Boma Hotel - Entebbe
Set in tropical gardens in a leafy suburb, a few minutes’ drive from Entebbe International Airport, the Boma Hotel provides the perfect surroundings for guests and is convenient when entering the country via the city’s international airport. Day 2 starts at a relaxed pace after your long journey, then prepare to board a boat for your trip to visit Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary. Learn about the conservation programmes and even participate at feeding time.
Accommodation: all en-suite rooms with private verandas are tastefully decorated in an eclectic African European style to reflect the local culture. Hand carved furniture and local artwork are sourced locally to support nearby communities.
Days 3 - 5
The Haven Lodge - source of the Nile
The Haven is a peaceful, relaxed, and well-maintained eco river lodge that is consistently rated one of the best family-friendly accommodations in the Jinja region of eastern Uganda. Enjoy the tranquillity and breath-taking view over the starting point of rafting at the White Nile’s first waterfall. Enjoy your family adventure by taking to the River Nile with flat or white-water rafting accompanied by an instructor. Explore the local village on bicycles.
Accommodation: beautiful self-contained family bungalow with en-suite bathroom, a private terrace, built-in safe, USB chargers, WiFi, hammock, mosquito nets, electric fan, linen, and towels. The lodge prides itself on being family-friendly.
Days 6 - 7
Kabalega Resort - rhino tracking
Kabalega Resort is in the Masindi district, in midwestern Uganda. Stay surrounded by an ambiance that is untamed. The resort is 46km from the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to the southern white rhino, which you will visit on your family Ugandan adventure. On an accompanied rhino tracking activity, seeing rhinos in their natural environment, up close and in person is an unforgettable experience. Ziwa is the only park in Uganda where you will find wild rhinoceros.
Accommodation: each room comes with a desk, a balcony with a garden view, a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV, bed linen and towels. Guest rooms include a wardrobe. The Masindi resort features a swimming pool, gardens, and free WiFi.
Days 8 - 10
Murchison River Lodge - game drives
Murchison River Lodge is situated directly on the southern bank of the River Nile overlooking Uganda’s largest national park, Murchison Falls. From the lodge bar and restaurant you are treated to panoramic views of the park and the infamous River Nile as it flows downstream between papyrus islands and pods of hippos. With game drives in the park, keep your eyes peeled for elephants, buffalos, hartebeest, hyena, antelopes, and maybe even lions and leopard.
Accommodation: thatched open plan en-suite cottages with a wide veranda overlooking the bush and a sofa and hammock for you to relax and enjoy the bird life. The cottages are perfect for families, and all equipped with mosquito nets, and child stair gate.
Days 11 - 12
Cassia Lodge - Kampala cultural visit
On the slopes of Buziga Hill, one of the highest hills of Kampala, and featuring views of Lake Victoria, Cassia Lodge offers excellent international cuisine in a serene environment. Enjoy a visit to Lubiri Palace on the Royal Mile. Buganda is one of the famous tribes in Uganda and the King’s Palace that sits right in the heart of Kampala city. Take a guided tour of this fascinating, cultural and historical site learning about the rich culture of this tribe.
Accommodation: the spacious, well-furnished, airy, and relaxed en-suite rooms come with balconies, flat-screen tv’s, minifridges, and free WiFi. Amenities at the lodge include a restaurant, a bar and a terrace with lake views, as well as an outdoor pool.
