Days 1 - 3
Montebelo Gorongosa Lodge – safaris
Having received recent international acclaim for its successful ongoing rehabilitation and restoration projects, Gorongosa National park is regaining its status as one of the best natural parks in the world. A large nature reserve, it is one of Mozambique’s most popular eco-tourism destinations and has been proclaimed as one of the most “biodiverse” places on earth with its rich wildlife population.
Accommodation: garden room bungalows decorated in natural colours, with mosquito nets and air-conditioning for those hot summer months. Wake up to the sound of the wild.
Days 4 – 5
Montebelo Girassol – explore Maputo
Explore the Mozambican capital of Maputo. The city has been heavily influenced by travellers and traders from Africa, Asia, and Europe, making it diverse and lively. There are many turn-of-the-century buildings in downtown jacaranda-lined streets, which nestle with an expansive Municipal Market. Sample famous prawns in peri-peri sauce, a spicy concoction made from an especially hot African chili pepper.

Days 6 – 9
Casa Rex – beach paradise in Vilanculos
Casa Rex offers panoramic views over the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and the Bazaruto Archipelago islands. Small and intimate, the lodge is the ideal base from which to explore the area. Vilanculos is often referred to as the gateway to the beautiful Bazaruto Archipelago, a group of 6 islands well known for their white-sand beaches.
