Lewa Conservancy is located approximately 190 km from Nairobi. The easiest way to get there is by flying to Lewa Downs airstrip, which is located within the conservancy. The flight takes approximately 45 minutes. Alternatively, you can drive from Nairobi, which is roughly 4-5 hours depending on traffic.
The duration of stay in Lewa Conservancy largely depends on individual preferences and interests. However, we recommend spending at least 3-4 days to fully appreciate the conservancy’s natural beauty, wildlife and enjoy the many activities on offer.
Best Time to Visit – Kenya Wildlife Conservation
The best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from June to October and again from mid-Dec to March. The weather during this period is warm and sunny, with temperatures ranging from 18°C to 28°C. The wet season runs from late October to December as well as March and April, the latter being the wettest months. During this period, the conservancy is lush and green, and wildlife is abundant.
