Suricate Tented Lodge - Kalahari Desert
Suricate Kalahari Tented Camp is located in the 100km2 Intu Afrika Kalahari Game Reserve in the Namibian Kalahari. Towering over the pans of the Auob wetlands and built on top of a majestic red dune. Designed to induce pure respite from the tensions of modern-day life, guests can watch the variety of animals make their way through the pan during the day. Enjoy the sense of being close to nature and being tantalised by the sound of the lion’s roar in the distant valleys.
Accommodation: there are 12 tents, which combine the ultimate African safari experience with the comforts and luxuries of modern-day living, with the added benefit of an open-air en-suite bathroom and a deck.
Days 2 - 3
Desert Homestead - the spectacular dunes
Desert Homestead Lodge is a beautifully decorated and friendly establishment with a bar, restaurant and pool. The lodge is designed in a rustic, farm style where you can enjoy home cooked meals and a friendly service. There is optional horse riding and nature drives within this spectacular area. Located just 27km from the world-famous Sesriem and Sossusvlei, there is the opportunity to explore the wondrous spectacle of the mighty dunes and walk amongst stark, sketeletal trees.
Accommodation: the bungalows look out over the desert and are set in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are en-suite and have double doors opening up onto your own small veranda. The lodge’s pool is perfect after a hot day in the desert.
Days 4 - 5
The Delight - dolphin and seal cruise
The ideal location of The Delight Swakopmund Hotel is that it is within walking distance from the Atlantic Ocean and to also the centre of Swakopmund; a fascinating and intriguing resort town. It allows you to experience the flavour of this charming town, while providing you the opportunity to explore the surrounding areas. Days 6 - 7
Grootberg Lodge - track black rhino
Perched on the lip of the Grootberg Plateau, with an infinite view down the stunning Klip River Valley, lies Grootberg Lodge. The community own the lodge so that the benefits go directly to helping the community become self sustainable. Experience the true wilderness that is Damaraland. The exclusive use area that the lodge encompasses, boasts a myriad of flora and fauna. Here is the chance to track black rhino, go on nature walks and visit the community.
Accommodation: the lodge consists of 11 thatched en-suite chalets, built from natural materials, with small hardwood private verandas that project you into the impossible view. Perfect after a day of rhino tracking.
Okaukuejo Rest Camp - see Etosha at night
Etosha, meaning “Great White Place”, is dominated by a massive mineral pan. The pan is part of the Kalahari Basin, the floor of which was formed around 1000 million years ago. The Etosha Pan covers around 25% of the National Park. Enjoy a night drive to find the more elusive nocturnal animals. At night the waterhole is floodlit but the light doesn’t penetrate into the surrouding bush. It creates something of a stage, focusing the attention on the animals that come to drink.
Accommodation: the bush chalets are a few minutes’ walk away from the famous waterhole of Etosha. The rooms are tastefully decorated and well thought out with lovely en-suite facilities.
Days 9 - 10
Mokuti Lodge - explore Etosha fully
The drive across Etosha is something else. Take it at your own pace and explore the vastness of Etosha. Mokuti Lodge is the closest lodge to Etosha National Park, as it is only four minutes’ drive from the eastern Von Lindequist Gate near the historical Namutoni Fort. Mokuti is located on its own private 4,000 hectare nature reserve, which shares a common border with this fascinating wildlife reserve. Etosha homes the biggest salt pan in Africa!
Accommodation: the rooms are all air conditioned and equipped with en-suite bathrooms with showers and modern amenities. Beautifully designed and in keeping with the surrounding area this really is the place for relaxation.
Ai Aiba Lodge - Erongo Mountains
Ai-Aiba, the Rock Painting Lodge is a place of unimaginable beauty and history. Dramatically set against imposing granite boulders in the foothills of the Erongo Mountain range. Steeped in history these ancient rock formations are the eroded remains of a volcanic complex about 130 million years old. African inspired rooms with large windows frame the rocky outcrops and bush Savannah with its incredible display of endemic trees such as the Purple-Pod Terminalia.
Accommodation: twin rooms, comprising two 3/4 beds, a small lounge with a tea and coffee station and an electronic safe for valuables. The big bathrooms comprise of a walk-in shower, luxury body products and a separate toilet.

We slowly make our way back to Windhoek, taking in different sights and travelling through the desert.
